Woman cuts airport security line and expects others to push her bag through, fellow travelers teach her a lesson: 'She approached me asking where her bag was'

Airport security is always a gamble. You never know if you're going to zip right through or get stuck waiting for hours while your anxiety skyrockets as you get closer to your departure time. One time when I was visiting my brother, I got to the airport and the line was so long it stretched out of the queue and down the lobby. I barely made it to my gate in time. So the next time I visited him, I tried to be smart and arrived extra early, only to get there and find no line at all, leaving me with an agonizing two hours to wait before my flight took off. There's just no winning. 

And the airport workers aren't exactly friendly if it's busy. Not that I blame them, to be honest. I wouldn't be either if I had to repeat the same directions for hours while people ignored me. But as a passenger, it's confusing. It feels like every airport does things differently. And then there are the travelers who think they're above the system, like the entitled woman in this story who thought she could just drop her bag and cut the entire line.

  • Eyeof_iris You did the exact right thing. If there was any contraband in it, it would have been on you. You should have called security, someone left their bag unattended. That's a big no no. This could have been more than petty revenge, all the way to nuclear. Airports dont like free-range luggage.
